HE Delivery Partner for Biotechnology

Lancaster University is one of the UK's top universities, consistently highly ranked and established as a world player in research and teaching as reflected in our rising global league table position. CETAD is the University's specialist work based learning centre. 'We enable people to learn; we make a difference' by delivering work based learning, which is learning through and for work. We work in partnership across the University and in particular with Biomedical and Life Sciences who undertake biomedical teaching and research activities. Together we work with employers and we have an exemplary track record in the design of innovative programmes delivering relevant knowledge and skills that can be applied directly to the workplace with immediate impact.  

In consultation with employers, Bionow, COGENT and Semta we developed our Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Bioscience and Business Management which provides options in scientific/technical skills as well as business skills. Collaboratively with University colleagues we designed and currently deliver a STEM employability project for undergraduates focusing on Communication and Presentation Skills. 

Our supportive practitioner tutor team understand the needs of mature learners and courses are delivered both at Lancaster and in the workplace. Our innovative framework  enables employees to deliver specific business outcomes and at the same time achieve postgraduate qualifications.

Our Continuing Professional Development part time courses lead to work based Masters Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and Postgraduate and Undergraduate Certificates. Assessment for all our courses is varied and includes work based projects and assignments but there are no exams!
