GEN II are one of the
largest work based learning organisations in the North West
specialising in professional engineering and manufacturing
training. We pride ourselves on our expertise and personal
commitment to training and workforce development which meets the
needs of both the learner and employer. The company currently
employs over 90 staff operating from 4 locations across Cumbria,
with state of the art training centres based in the North, South
and West of the county.
In 2011 GEN II became the
first work based learning provider in the North West to achieve an
Ofsted Outstanding Grade 1 for teaching and learning, which
highlights our commitment to the delivery of exceptional apprentice
training. GEN II was also the first education and training provider
in the UK to be awarded the Training Quality Standard (TQS) with
excellence in Nuclear and Engineering.
As a response to employer
demand for high level accredited and customised educational
programmes, the GEN II Department of Engineering and Energy
Technology (DEET) was formed in 2005. DEET delivers a wide range of
BTEC and Foundation Degree and BEng engineering programmes. To help
embed a safety culture, GEN II, are also accredited as a NEBOSH,
CIEH and IOSH training provider and provide a range of commercial
short courses aimed at those who have responsibility for
safety, specifically for high safety critical environments.
