TTE apprentices go online to showcase skills
Apprentices at TTE
Technical training Group have found an innovative way to promote
their skills to new employers.
Students aged between 16
and 18 and working towards their NVQ qualifications at TTE's
trading centre in South Bank Middlesbrough have taken to YouTube to
illustrate their experiences in the workplace.
The video, which can be
viewed below has been sent to employers across the region, and
highlights the apprentice's passion for engineering and ambitions
for the future, as well as their practical skills.
Steve Grant, Managing
Director of The TTE Technical Training Group, said:
"TTE has an excellent reputation
with employers for delivering skilled, enthusiastic apprentices who
are ready to enter the workplace. Competition for jobs and
sponsorship has increased, which has led to our students using
YouTube to showcase themselves to potential
sponsors."
"The video is just a taste
of the quality young people we have at TTE who are earning the
skills, qualifications and abilities to meet the skills
requirements of industry and skills shortages facing many sectors,
not only on Teesside and in the North East, but around the
world."
Apprentices at TTE spend
two years as part of their sponsoring company's workforce, which
allows them to gain on-site experience and further qualifications.
At the end of the period they are all "industry-ready" for the
workplace.
